We are Kiadis, when it comes to life-threatening diseases, we are one family. Kiadis is leveraging the natural strengths of human immune systems to source the best cells to produce innovative therapies for life-threatening disease. We are focused on NK cell research & development to maximize the potential of NK cell therapeutics. Kiadis is a leader in creating cutting-edge science in the exciting and emerging fields of cell therapy, immuno-oncology and infectious diseases.

In support of developing our innovative NK cell therapies in infectious diseases, we are looking for a Scientist at various levels to be based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. All seniority levels of the Scientist will be considered, commensurate with skills, training level and experience.

The role

As a Scientist, you are an important member of our integral research team. You’ll work in our state-of-the-art laboratory in Amsterdam and will conduct studies to support the development of our next generation clinical NK cell therapeutics. Focused to further fuel innovation in our current pipeline and to assist us reaching our goal: helping patients in need. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and conduct experiments to identify optimal mechanisms for creating more potent NK cell therapeutics in infectious diseases.  Present results to different groups inside Kiadis and collaborators, manage interactions with technicians and other research colleagues.
  • Isolation and expansion of NK cells (and other immune cells) from human blood
  • Aseptic culture techniques of NK cells, cell lines, primary cells, setup of in vitro (virus) infection models
  • Viral vector-based or electroporation-based modification of cell lines and primary cells
  • Evaluation and detection of NK and other immune cells and their effector functions using flow cytometry-based assays, fluorescence microscopy, NGS
  • Supporting routine tasks relating to laboratory operations

The ideal candidate

We are looking for someone with a PhD in Cell therapy, Cell Biology, Immunology, infectious diseases, Virology or related field. You are someone that has strong scientific training, thinks innovatively for development of immunological therapies, and combines this with excellent communication skills and team spirit. In addition you own any of the following educational and technical skillsets:

  • Multiparameter flow or spectral cytometry, fluorescence microscopy and real-time imaging, receptor ligand binding assays
  • in vitro and/or in vivo animal models to study the immune system or infectious diseases (organoids, air-liquid-interface, transwell, humanized mice, mice, other)
  • Antibody biology, development and engineering and/or vaccine development
  • Genetic engineering and high throughput screening (CRISPR, lentiviral methods, transposon methods), NGS, single cell RNA Sequencing
  • Immunological, virologic, cytotoxic killing assays, degranulation, ADCC, ELISA, neutralization assays, Cell signaling and/or metabolic assays
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment with challenging work-load and to quickly get acquainted with novel methods and approaches

What we offer

A challenging position in an innovative biotechnology company. Working in a fast-paced dynamic environment brings the opportunity to make your own mark within the organization.
