Logistics Manager (East Coast US)

We are looking to further strengthen our Operations team with a Logistics Manager that is based on the East coast of the US (this position is home-based).

The role

As a Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for defining the logistics process, including Chain of Custody and Chain of Identity for clinical trials and commercial readiness. Moreover, you will play a lead role in vendor oversight and management of internal/external partnerships and relationships.

In this cross-functional role, you will collaboratively manage the starting material and drug product logistics processes. Focused on our North American operations, you will play a leadership role in ensuring the reliability, capacity, and quality of the Kiadis logistics operations, especially for our NK platform. Additionally, you will participate in the implementation of new IT systems to manage patient scheduling and logistics, ensuring the configuration meets the needs of the business.

In your day-to-day you will:

  • Manage all US import/export compliance.
  • Review the documentation for all FDA shipments and Managed Permits for USDA shipments.
  • Analyze providers to identify new solutions and services.
  • Interact with stakeholders to monitor the key milestones and on-time delivery of clinical supplies to investigational sites and depots.
  • Analyze and recommend cold chain processes, shipping solutions, and trends for temperature excursions.
  • Configure automated logistics/scheduling platform for the NK program.
  • Oversee carrier management for all depot-to-depot and depot-to-sites transfers.
  • Execute shipments in relation to the shipment plan and creation of shipment documentation when needed.
  • Advise Clinical and Medical teams (in both the US and EU) on possibilities and risks in relation to planned shipment execution.
  • Identify root-cause process failures in relation to shipments and temperature tracking.
  • Give timely response to questions from the manufacturing facilities and other external stakeholders in relation to shipments and delays.
  • Archive shipment documentation of fully executed shipments to support the Chain of Identity and Chain of Custody.
  • Audit vendor invoices to ensure a match with business transactions.

The ideal candidate

We are looking for someone with a BA or BSC in Logistics Management or related discipline, and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a relevant field.

We are looking for someone that:

  • Has experience with defining and managing logistics processes, including Chain of Custody/Chain of Identity in a regulated environment.
  • Has general knowledge of and experience with GxP principles.
  • Has experience with clinical supply pack/label/distribution, clinical trial operations, project management, pharma/bio research and development, and inventory management.
  • Has strong planning and cross-functional coordination skills, the ability to build strong collaborative teams and relationships, and can lead matrixed/virtual teams where required.
  • Is self-sufficient, self-motivated, self-driven, and pro-active.
  • Operates successfully in a rapidly changing, ambiguous, and fast-paced environment.
  • Is business fluent in English.
